TEAM PICTURES TOMORROW MORNING – Wednesday, June 21st. WEAR your team suit and team t-shirt!
Wow! We are now 2 – 0 after winning our second meet last night against Whitmoor – Final Score 750 (LSL) to 649 (Whitmoor). Great job swimmers and a big thank you to ALL our volunteer parents last night. A couple of key highlights ….. We had 5 team records broken – the 11 &12 Boys Free Relay Austin Flynn, Gregg Hagen, Jacob Ostby, and Conner Bunch; Evan Engelage 100 Free Style; Ali Thurwachter bettered her 100 Back record; and finally Coach Ryan Livergood in the 100 Back and 100 Fly! Also, it was our FLY swimmers who really pulled us ahead in a very tight meet – thanks to our Fly winners Danielle Friz, Brian Birza, Alyssa Heinsohn, Jacob Ostby, Jamie Bolton, Clark Philipp, Rebecca Holliday, Marcos Sanchez, Tori Bolton, Timmy Welker, Allison Engelage, Andrew Sansoucie, Julia Zagaja, Alex Williams, Brynne Buell, and Ryan Livergood. Swim A Thon Update What a FUN morning today at the pool during our “day” session for our swim-a-thon. We had 51 swimmers and collectively they swam 4523 LAPS. That is an average of 88 laps per swimmer. Congratulations to Evan Engelage top male lap winner – 256 & Sarah Sutherlin top female lap winner – 216 lap winner! I also want to acknowledge Nora Baker for raising the most funds! For those of you that missed out on the fun, you have one more opportunity on Wednesday night this week from 7-8:30pm for our NIGHT Swim-A-Thon. I’m still collecting your pledge envelopes. You can place them in my swim mail box and thank you again for your support of our Scholarship Fund.
In addition to our regular morning practice schedule, we will have the following practices next week…. Saturday, June 24th – Coach Kathy Cumbie will lead our Saturday morning practice this week from 10 – Noon in two one hour practices. Monday, June 26th – Yes – we have a night practice Monday night from 6 – 8pm! Wednesday, June 28th – Yes – we have practice from 7 – 8:30pm! The coaches have also asked that if you have swim fins please bring them with you to practice. Swim Meet Sign-Ups You are all doing a GREAT job using our new binder system for signing up for our meets. We now have a break in the schedule (next meet Monday, July 10th) and due to the coaches vacation schedules they are requesting that we “pre” register for the next two home swim meets. Please sign up as soon as you can. Also, if you are not swimming in a meet, please CROSS your name off the list so that we are not anticipating a sign up.
Our cut off date (JUNE 30th) for registering our swimmers for All-County is fast approaching. The coaches really want a strong turnout. If you haven’t already done so, print off the attached form, complete, include the $7 meet registration, and place it in my swim box. 2006 All County Swim Meet Sign Up Go SeaLions!
