First Swim Meet & Announcements - June 14, 2006

LSL Swim Team Parents and Swimmers,

Congratulations to all swimmers who competed in the home Twin Chimney meet this past Monday! We won – final score

LSL 804 - Twin Chimney 576. This was a great way to start off the swim season! A big thank you to all our OUTSTANDING coaches, parent volunteers, and “head” volunteers”. Without each of you we wouldn’t succeed! Of special note from the meet, our swimmers took 1st place in every relay in the meet and collectively we broke 15 team records – 9 & 10 Boys Timmy Welker 100 IM; 11 & 12 Girls Sarah Sutherlin 100 Back ; 13 & 14 Girls Angela Bussey 100 Free & 50 Fly; 13 & 14 Boys Dan Zagaja 100 IM & 100 Fly; 13 & 14 Boy Relays Free & Medley – Evan Engelage, Danny Taylor, Dan Zagaja, Alex Williams; 15 - 18 Girls Sam Holiday 50 Free, Ali Thurwachter 100 Free & 100 Back, Brynne Buell 200 IM, and Elizabeth Ireland 50 Back; 15 - 18 Boys Coach Ryan Livergood 50 Fly; and finally the 15 - 18 Med Relay – Ali Thurwachter, Kris Oman, Brynne Buell, and Ryan Livergood. Of EXTRA special note – our 9 & 10 Boys group took 1st place in EVERY individual and relay event. AWESOME JOB SWIMMERS…..

Now onto some Announcements……..

1. Whitmoor Swim Meet (Monday, June 19th) Announcements – The deadline to sign up for this meet is just a few days away - FRIDAY, JUNE 16th. This is an away meet at Whitmoor Country Club – click here to find the directions http://www.lslswimteam.com/atwhitmoor06.htm . The warm up time is 5pm and the meet start time is 5:30pm. Remember when you arrive at the swim meet 1) pick up swim meet cards; 2) check relay boards & and swimmers need to check-off at the relay check-in area; and 3) parents check-in with the volunteer coordinator.

2. As a reminder at both HOME and AWAY swim meets, it is the responsibility of our parents and swimmers to CLEAN UP their area before departing. Collectively as a team we want to show respect to our Community Association as well as the other venues where we swim.

3. JUST ONE WEEK AWAY - Swim-A-Thon for our swim scholarship fund will be held during the Tuesday, June 20th morning practice and Wednesday, June 21st evening practice – get your pledges ready – this is a FUN event!

4. JUST ONE WEEK AWAY - Team Swim Picture date is Wednesday, June 21st starting at 8:00am. From 8am-9am, individual pictures will be taken. The team picture will be taken at 9am followed by a “coaches” picture. Paul will then take any “action” shots after the group photos.

5. Don’t FORGET to sign up & pay for the All County end of year Swim Meet– place your payment ($7 per swimmer) & form in Lee Sutherlin’s box - deadline for sign up is Friday, June 30th. If you are missing a form, please print out the attached form to use….
