The summer program officially starts with the Lake Saint Louis Swim Team Parent Meeting that will be held on Sunday, June 6th at 5pm under the pool deck at the Community Association. We request that at least one parent from each family attend the meeting. The meeting will include: 1) an introduction of our coaches; 2) a brief description of key dates in the season; 3) swim meet sign up procedures; 4) distribution of the team t-shirts and swim caps; 5) stations to review swim meet volunteering roles; 6) opportunity to pre-register for the two swim stoke clinics plus sign ups for the first meet and the All-County meet; and 7) an opportunity to purchase team suits, goggles, etc. Also, ALL new families to the team are asked to please bring your swimmers. They will be meeting separately with our coaching staff during this same time to acclimate them to our program. Welcome back to the many families that participated in our swim program in the past. The Swim Board and coaches would like to extend a very special welcome to the 28 new families that have joined the team for the first time this year. We have over 160 competitive swimmers on the team and already over 70 children signed up for our swim lesson program. SWIM MEET VOLUNTEER REMINDER Our first swim meet is only three weeks away and with that comes the need for many volunteer helpers to ensure that our meets run smoothly. The Swim Board would like to especially thank those who have volunteered to be the "Lead Volunteer" for key positions. They are as follows: Cathy Thurwachter - Meet Starter; Sheri Taylor & Michelle Williams - Co-Volunteer Coordinators; Kathy Park - Head Bull Pen; Patty Solomon & Margo Guerrettaz - Concessions; Kathy Cumbie - Head Stroke Judge; Joanna Holliday - T-Shirts & Sponsorships; Barb Bellows - Picnic; and Sandra Boll - Head Ribbon Table. Enclosed you will find the master copy of the volunteer list along with the complete phone roster for the team. As a reminder if you are scheduled to work a meet and have a conflict, you are responsible for finding your own substitute. Finally, the volunteer check-in for each meet will be staged next to the meet card pick up area. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW SWIM LESSON COORDINATOR & OUR 2004 SWIMMER COACHES Sarah Cowdry will spearhead our swim lesson program this summer. Sarah is a 2004 Graduate from Wentzville High School. She has been a Swimmer Coach and Swim Lesson Instructor for of Lake Saint Louis for the past four summers. She has been an active participate on the of Lake Saint Louis swim team for 8 years and a true leader among the team members. She is a certified lifeguard and has taught private swim lessons for the last two years. She will be attending Lindenwood University in the Fall of 2004 on an athletic scholarship - swimming and soccer. Recently the Swim Board interviewed a group of wonderful Swimmer Coach Applicants. We are pleased to announce that the following individuals will coach and teach in our swim lesson program this up coming season: Jud Birza, Molly Cowdry, Anna Meagher, Elizabeth Ireland, Bob Reynolds, Patrick Silberberg, Thomas Sutherlin, Colin Park, Drew Smith, Brynne Buell, Tara Williams, Nora Baker, Andrea Ehrich, Olivia Lyons, Amy Smothers, Cassie Hoover, Kris Oman, Kristen Howell, and Nick Masters.
